New Van Donated to Caddo Council on Aging

The Caddo Council on Aging's Meals on Wheels program has a new 2008 Kia van thanks to a donation from Chesapeake Energy Corporation, Twin Cities Development and Franks Exploration Company.

"We are very excited about the donation of this new van," Mary Alice Rountree, the agency's executive director, said in a news release. "I admire the companies who came to the forefront to help, especially during these tough economic times. This generous donation will allow us to deliver hot, nutritious meals more efficiently to more than 1,000 local seniors and will provide a cost savings to the overall program."

The van was donated during a presentation Friday, a news release states.

"At Chesapeake, we embrace opportunities to invest in organizations that directly impact social service needs in the areas where we explore and produce natural gas," Kevin McCotter, Chesapeake's director of corporate development, said in the release. "The Meals on Wheels program managed by Caddo Council on Aging helps to insure no one in our community has to go hungry or be alone."
