You may need a little help getting your loved one to and from everywhere they need to go. With GoGoGrandparent, you can easily get your loved one a ride anytime** – in advance or at the last minute – with a simple phone call.

GoGoGrandparent’s Features and Benefits:

After you sign up on the website or over the phone and enter basic information about yourself and your loved one (like address and payment method) you or your loved one can order a ride from any phone. Through a series of phone prompts, you can indicate whether the pickup is at home or where your loved one was last dropped off, and you can also speak with an operator at any time. GoGoGrandparent will order and oversee the ride but Lyft will provide the ride itself.

**Restrictions: GoGoGrandparent subcontracts with Lyft drivers to facilitate rides. Lyft is a curb to curb service and therefore GoGoGrandparent cannot work with anyone that needs a trained caregiver to lift them into a car. Additionally, they cannot ask drivers to enter a building.

What is Lyft?

Lyft is a ride-hailing service that lets riders call a driver and car to their location using the Lyft app. When you request a ride, a driver near you will be sent the request, which they can accept or decline. You'll be given an estimated time until pickup, then when your driver arrives, you just get in the car and go.
Because you'll already have your payment information saved in the Lyft app, you don't need to worry about having enough cash or swiping your credit or debit card when the ride is over. At the end of the ride, you can even add a tip for your driver when you pay in the app.

How do I sign up?

Everything you do with Lyft, including signup, takes place in the Lyft app. Once you've got the app installed, you can enter information like your email address and a password and set up your Lyft account.
You'll also need to enter a preferred payment method, such as a credit or debit card. Lyft also supports Apple Pay, as well as PayPal. If you have Apple Pay set up on your iPhone, it shows up as one of the available payment options for any Lyft ride, and you can set it as your default payment method when you order your next ride.  Lyft will also need access to your location so the driver knows where to pick you up. How does Uber work?

In cities where Uber operates, use your rider app to request a ride. When a nearby driver accepts your request, your app displays an estimated time of arrival for the driver-partner heading to your pickup location. Your app notifies you when the driver-partner is about to arrive.

Your app also provides info about the driver with whom you will ride, including first name, vehicle type, and license plate number. This info helps the two of you connect at your pickup location.  Use your app to enter your preferred destination anytime before or during the ride. If you have a preferred route, it’s helpful to talk through the directions together.  When you arrive at your destination and exit the vehicle, your trip ends. Your fare is automatically calculated and charged to the payment method you’ve linked to your Uber account.
